Types of Yoga

There are many different types of Yoga.

Hatha is the most common in the Western world and is the easiest to start with for beginners.

KEJ Yoga classes offer a unique blend of Hatha, Vinyasa and Kundalini Yoga. Hatha focuses on the physical postures; Vinyasa classes are known for their fluid, movement-intensive practices as well as linking breath; and Kundalini is more spiritual and focuses on your Chakras.

Classes focus on the three different styles, varying each week and ensuring that there’s something for everyone whether you’re a beginner looking to improve your fitness or if you have been doing Yoga for a while now and wish to know more on how to progress…

KEJ Yoga classes also focus on correct Pranayama (breathing). Although there is not a heavy emphasis on the spiritual side of Yoga, each KEJ Yoga class is carefully designed to active your Chakras starting from the root all the way up to the crown! We occasionally learn Mantras and Mudras in class, so you can get a taste for if this is for you or not.

“Homework” is usually provided at the end of each term so you can practise what you have learnt in class too.
